DIRECTIONS (1): From the main concourse take exit 1 (by Whistlestop) at the south end of the station. Turn right and cross the road at the crossing, then take the steps down (left). Continue straight ahead, the road curvs to the right. Lower Marsh is the first street on the right - look for Cubana. We are halfway along the street on the right-hand side.
Or you can take any exit onto Waterloo Road and follow the directions below...
DIRECTIONS (2): From the Jubilee Line exit onto Waterloo Road, turn right and walk straight down to the corner (Book Warehouse). Turn right and walk away from the Old Vic Theatre - Lower Marsh is the street directly in front of you, with Cubana at the left side. We are halfway along the street on the right-hand side
Both walks take less than five minutes from the station.
PARKING: there is free parking on Lower Marsh, Launcelot Street and Frazier Street AFTER 6pm. You'll find metred parking bays on Spur Road and Station Approach, both behind the shop.
CYCLISTS: there are cycling parking facilities on Launcelot Street, on Lower Marsh outside Cubana, and opposite the shop, outside the Christian Aid building.
What's in store?
Our stock includes a range of yarns to suit all tastes, with well-known names nestled alongside one-off hand-dyed hanks from independent producers. With a higher than average selection of yarns sourced from the British Isles alongside a number of more exotic fibres from overseas (Habu, Manos del Uruguay, Malabrigo et al) there's something to suit all tastes. Our needles and crochet hooks are fully stocked (Addi, Brittany, Clover et al.) and our selection of knitting and crochet books is second to none.
We are open seven days a week, with late night opening on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. IKL is more than just a knitting shop - drop by after work, meet friends, browse, or just enjoy some peaceful knitting - we are proud to be the only knitting shop in the UK with a licence to serve you a glass of wine, a bottle of beer or cider or just fizzy pop! There's room for a few on the cosy sofa and plenty to be inspired by while you're here...
IKL is the perfect setting for any small crafty soireé - if you need a venue for you own group, book launch or craft event get in touch with us...
Come and see us, settle in and make a day of it!
